Scooter Shredding

The day before stage 1 one is finally over and tomorrow morning at 9am the suffering begins. Today wasn't your typical pre race day for me. Instead of surfing the internet with me feet up, we were out shredding the island on our motos and checking out what the island had to offer. Fellow Americans Blake Harlan and Jason Sager are down here racing with Brady and I as well. They also rented some moto's and joined us on our adventure today. The speed limit on the island is normally either 60 or 70 kph, but we cruised at full throttle or no throttle the whole time. Pinning it at 110k's! Moto's pretty much run the road here and it seems like no rules really apply to them except stay left so people can pass right. That makes it nice for us so we can blow by! Between driving on the left and narrow roads, some sketchy passes we're defiantly made. Luckily, none of us died. Ha! Our biker gang rolled to the Langkawi cable car today. It's a gondola lift system that takes you up over 2,100ft to a mountain top where there are some awesome views as well as a hanging bridge. After that was all said and done we began the voyage home to return our scooter's. Brady's ran out of gas so I had to give him a tow to a gas station. Luckily it was only around 1.5k.

After a morning of scooting we figured we should go out for a ride. We did so and happened to come across part of stage 1. The trails here are cut like double track, but half of it is grown over so it's like riding singletrack. The race should be fun and will surely be hard. There are some big names coming, I guess that's what happens when $130,000 is put on the line. I'm hoping for a top 15 each day! Here are some more pictures and even a cool video of Brady and I sending it on the scooters.
