Man have these last few weeks flown by! You'd think living at the Olympic Training Center with the sole mission of riding bikes there would be lot's of free time but that definetly wasn't the case. I put everything I could into my training lately, and if all this hard work doesn't have me flying in Champery I don't know what will! A lot of volume with a fair amount of intensity was the recipe created by Colby. Gully was able to get us out for some motor pacing on a couple occasions, we did some supplemental O2 in the lab, many double days, group rides and a couple short tracks in Boulder. I feel like I'm riding better than I have all year. I think the thing about racing is you are generally always carrying the same level of fitness, you can just teach your body to suffer more by doing intervals and such and that's what makes you more "fit." Thinking back to my first VO2 intervals in March and then comparing them to now, I think the main difference is my body is used to working more effiecently and I'm able to dig more into the pain cave.
Supplemental O2. It hurts, but hopefully is effective!
I arrived in Germany yesterday after a smooth trip over. Kirchzarten really is starting to feel like a second home to me now. Instead of feeling like a tourist, I feel like I'm apart of the community. Today I plan to go to my favorite coffee shop, the Biosk, in Freiburg and visit my friend Sonke. It's cool to have connections in such a foreign place! We're doing a race tomorrow in Switzerland as well as Sunday before heading over to Champery on Monday or Tuesday. The U23's race on Friday. I'm excited and hoping for a muddy race!
Champery sure is pretty. I can't wait to ride this trail!
Rock ´n Roll! I crossing my fingers 4 U! Show them your trailskills!!!
